Lindy Cook – Naturopath
My career in Natural Medicine began over 25 years ago whilst I was living in London. I had one of those lightbulb moments that helping people regain and maintain their optimal health and wellbeing was the thing that lit the fire in my belly and I felt really passionate about. And not much has changed!
While in London I studied Nutritional Medicine, setting up a lifelong love affair with the use of ‘food as medicine’. Once back in Australia I completed my studies as a Naturopath, Herbalist and Nutritionist at Endeavour College, where I was awarded Dux of Western Medical Sciences.
I’ve been fortunate enough to work in many different capacities within the wellbeing world – lecturing at Endeavour College, recipe development, running regular corporate health programs and, always, working in private practice.
Working with Nurtured Birth is the perfect match for me. My areas of interest have always been around digestive health and the many and varied aspects of women’s and family health, spanning the reproductive years and beyond. Working with men and women throughout every stage of conception is an enormously satisfying journey to be a part of.
I use natural therapies to ensure the healthiest egg and sperm are produced for the best possible outcome, all backed up by the very latest scientific research. Treatment covers preconception, sub-fertility, pregnancy, IVF, and hormonal issues such as endometriosis and PCOS. It goes without saying every consultation includes a thorough dietary analysis to optimise your health and wellbeing. The strong foundation of good food and excellent nutrition is the cornerstone of your good health.
Outside of Nurtured Birth you can often find me at my local farmer’s market with a basketful of delicious, organic food. There’s something incredibly grounding about good ‘real food’ that makes me very happy! I enjoy practising yin yoga and spending as much time as I can at our beach shack on the east coast of Victoria. Beach walks, bush hikes, swimming, reading, catching up with friends and spending time with my family – life’s all about the balance.
